Welcome to the 29th InterNorden Meeting 2006, Kangasala – Finland 30th June - 2nd July ProAgria Association of Rural Advisory Centres and The Finnish Sheep Breeders Association are organizing the 29th InterNorden Meeting at Lihasula Farm near Tampere on 30th June – 2nd July. Participating countries at the InterNorden Meeting are Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Faeroe Islands, Greenland and Finland. The Meeting is arranged every second year in one of the member countries. Participants are usually researchers and advisors but sheep farmers are welcome as well. We will open this meeting to Baltic Countries, too. Programme Please find enclosed the preliminary programme of the InterNorden Meeting 2006. There will be some minor additions to presentations as soon as we get the confirmation from Sweden and Norway. You will find the updated programme from this website. Meeting Place The InterNorden 2006 Meeting will take place at The Lihasula Farm in Kangasala Finland. The Farm is about 25 kilometers away from Tampere. The Farm is specialised in Finnish sheep breeding and has also got congress and accommodation facilities. It includes program, publication, Meeting Tour and all meals. Price for accompanying persons is 300 € (do not include programme and publication). For the accommodation, The Lihasula Farm charges 30 € per person and night in double rooms. Prices include 22 % vat. Registration Please register by May 1st, 2006. After that day, both Meeting and Accomodation fees will rise by 10 %. You may cancel your registration by June 1st, 2006 without additional expence. Cancellations after this date will be charged with 50 % of the registration fee. All the cancellations should be made in writing. The registration form you will find from this link. Getting to Kangasala and the Lihasula Farm Please indicate your arrival and departure plan in your registration, or, if you do not know it yet, do it later (latest 15th of June) by e-mail to maarit.aarila@proagria.fi . We will then inform you about the transportation alternatives from Tampere to Lihasula when you arrive. The end of the Meeting Tour is at Loimaa, only 50 km from Turku. It is thus possible to book a flight from Turku airport or a cruise from Turku port, too. If you come to Lihasula Farm by car, take the road number 9 from Tampere to Jyväskylä. After driving 20 kilometres, turn right at the crossroads with the sign “Lihasula 4”. To the speakers We will prepare the publication before the Meeting. For that we need the texts of the presentations before 15th of May. Texts should preferably be done with either Word or Word Perfect. Texts should be proceedings level, not abstracts or Power Point -slides. Length should not be more than 3 sheets with pictures and tables.
